November 2017

This month we had an interesting video on the Antikythera Mechanism - the first analog computer
that was found in an ancient ship wreck south of Greece. The mechanism goes back to around
100 B.C., computes the position of the Sun, Moon and the five known planets as well as
solar and lunar eclipses. It could also keep track of all of the Olympic Games.

Also this month we took pictures of past and present members of the Steering Comm
ittee

Thanks to Bill Weaver and Carla LaFave for taking the pictures.
