At the end of August the TIG was invited by the Trails Enhancement Team to provide telescopes for
a walk up to Mallard Pond. The Association provided a small truck to haul the telescopes to the end of the trail.
This event was a huge success! We had just short of 200 people come out to see Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and a beautiful red moonrise.
Bill Weaver and Bob Collins brought telescopes. Barbara Swerdlow came up with the hikers and did a wonderful job of keeping everyone in
line and organized. Both Barbara and Ron Yelton kept folks occupied while they waited in line by pointing out astronomical sights such as the Summer
Triangle and lots of different constellations. Thanks to Carla LaFave for taking all of the pictures.
