the Vastness of Space" John Combes presented "Numbers and the Vastness Of Space" in Presentation Hall (KS). Johns presentation described and demonstrated using audience participation, how, by applying numbers to different scales and time periods provides us with an easy way to understand and appreciate the vast unbelievable distances to the planets, stars and galaxies. |

September 7 | GM | Morey Lewis - "Gravity, Does
it Control the Universe?" Morey's
presentation covered the roles gravity plays in
stars, planets and galaxies, and finally in the
fate of the Universe. The talk began with the
history of what we know about gravity and how it
has affected almost everything we
see in the night sky both with the naked eye and
through telescopes.

Science: Galaxy Zoo" What is citizen science? What are some citizen science projects? What is Galaxy Zoo? How are galaxies classified? Ranny also led the audience to do some classifications of current Galaxy Zoo images. |
April 28 | TIG | Hands-on Experience This meeting was a "Hands-On Telescope Help" event. Members with telescopes were able to get assistance in setting up, aligning, controlling and viewing with their telescopes. Experienced members were present to provide assistance. |

Anniversary" by Anthony Oreglia Anthony presented a survey
of the key characteristics and major
findings of past Mars Missions including
many of the stunning images obtained by
the spacecraft. He also updated information
on the most current missions - Curiosity Rover,
The Mars Orbiter, and MAVEN missions.
